How do I Classify my QuickBooks Accounts?

The third step in the Bookvalu Getting Started guide is to classify your QuickBooks Accounts within Bookvalu. Classifying your QuickBooks Accounts is very important and it ensures that all of the calculations within Bookvalu are as accurate as possible.

Once you have connected to QuickBooks online and Synced your transaction data, you will be prompted to Review Account Classifications. Click the "Review Account Classifications" to proceed.

You will then move to the Account Classification of the app. Any unclassified accounts will appear in the top red section under the label "Unclassified Accounts"

To classify an account, simply click on the checkbox to the left of the account you want to classify. Once you do, a "Move to" Folder will appear. Click on the "Move to" Folder and search for the group you want to place the account under. Then click to "Save Changes".

Unclassified accounts only need to be assigned once.

Note: It is a good idea to double-check to make sure that you agree with the automated account classifications and re-classify as needed.
